Key Features:
- Appreciation is given to teachers for their optimistic attitude to life, exemplary work, depth of knowledge and undying commitment to the cause of education.
- Encouragement is given to students for their inquisitiveness about the immense world of knowledge around them and their desire to explore, understand, learn and work meaningfully.
- Value is given to parents for being their children’s first
advocate and partaking of the learning process of their
children by working hand in hand with the teachers to promote their child’s developmental process. - Importance is given to the idea of learning being a continuous process synonymous with growth; a process with both teachers and parents as mentors working unitedly towards a common goal – wholesome qualitative upbringing of the child i.e.: his physical, cognitive, social and emotional development.
Mission
Our mission is to promote and encourage children on
their path of natural learning through a superior
curriculum modelled on children’s abilities, inclinations
and interests.
Apart from guiding children of ages 1.5 years to 5 years
in their cognitive development, our efforts lie in creating the
‘complete child’; assisting in his physical, social and
emotional development through an integrated curriculum that
takes him effortlessly from one developmental height to
another.
Our mission is to nurture and promote effective
communication between teachers, students and their families
because ‘communication’ is the key word in the whole
teaching – learning process and leads to effective learning.
Realizing the family as the basis of a child’s world, our
programmes and classroom activities reflect family
cultures and traditions; assisting a child in exploring the
outside world while being rooted in his family values.
Our approach is futuristic, developmental and activity
based; promoting and encouraging the numerous
significant questions that children have about the
world around them; hence creating individuals
with a questioning spirit who look on the
world around them with a ‘Why?’ or a
‘How?’; leading to new learning and
knowledge.
Our
Approach
Preschool program uses a theme-based
approach. Every month a new topic or theme is
covered. Children learn and explore these topics
through art, stories, songs, group games and
activities. During the time that your child is in our care,
he/she will be encouraged to try new activities, practice
sharing, solve problems, participate in small and large
group activities and express him/herself creatively.
Children will have the opportunity to develop their
independence, self-help, sharing and social skills.
Group time is a time during which all children come together
to participate in daily calendar and weather activities, story
time, sharing time (show & tell), singing and learning about the
theme.
Free play is a time for self-directed play activities. The children
use this time to make friends, cooperate, share with others
and interact with the teachers. The self-directed activities
include sensory table, manipulatives (puzzles, lacing, sorting,
etc), building (blocks, Legos), dramatic (play house, dolls,
dress-up, workbench, cars) and an assortment of other toys
and books.
Art is an important part of the preschool curriculum. The
children are encouraged to make many choices at
preschool; however, they are expected to participate
in the art activity. The preschool teachers focus on
the creative art process, not the end product.
Large motor development is provided each
class time. Outdoor activity consists of
utilizing the playground with balls,
jump-ropes, etc. This provides your
child with exercise through
running, hopping, skipping,
jumping, climbing
and swinging. In the event of inclement weather, indoor
activities will be planned. Activities may include bean
bags, group games and creative movement.
A snack is provided each class time. During snack time the
children practice table manners, proper hand washing and
socializing with classmates and teachers. If your child has any
food restrictions or allergies, please inform the teacher upon
registration and indicate so on your form.
Field trips are occasionally organized. This acts as an
extension of the preschooler’s opportunity to develop their social skills and
learning. Participants are given the choice to participate.
